3rd IBMM Monroe-Style Mandolin Camp

The International Bluegrass Music Museum in Owensboro, KY, has just eighteen places left in this year's Monroe-Style Mandolin Camp, to be held at the Museum on 12-14 September. The faculty of mandolin masters present include Richie Brown, Mike Compton, Bobby Osborne, Frank Wakefield, Butch Waller, and Roland White. (Mike Compton and Roland White have both played in Ireland as mandolinists with the Nashville Bluegrass Band, and Butch Waller was here three weeks ago with High Country.)

The programme includes an outing to Bill Monroe's birthplace at Rosine, and 13 September would have been Bill's 97th birthday... For full details see the Camp web page.

(Incidentally, did anyone get a photo of the mandolin summit in the Carleton Abbey courtyard at Athy on 12 July, with Butch Waller, Gerry Madden, and Niall Toner?)
