Fair City Grass Christmas Bash, 12 Dec.
Thanks to Aran Sheehan for this report on FCG's annual Christmas show at Mother Reilly's in Rathmines, Dublin:
It was a lovely evening with a receptive and appreciative crowd. My personal highlight of the evening was Fair City Grass playing 'Southern flavour' which had the real Monroe feeling and was executed with sublime class and dexterity. I also enjoyed having the honour of being invited to join the boys for a few stonking numbers along with Banjo Conor [Daly] where we passed breaks around and wigged out with the rock-steady sound of Fair City Grass.
I was also delighted to meet the newest member of Fair City Grass, a gentleman from Brazil called Bruno, who has a great alto voice and harmonized wonderfully with Enda to give the sound a true bluegrass feeling.
Aran also sends a link to about four minutes of some very atmospheric MySpace TV footage, showing the band playing 'Oh, Susanna'; watch it here.
