Myra McCabe

Tony O'Brien sends the sad news of the death last weekend of Myra McCabe, wife of Sean McCabe of Portarlington, Co. Laois. Tony adds:

Sean is one of the great bluegrass followers in Ireland and ran many great sessions in Portarlington during the 1990s. Many of the bands passing 'Port' dined at Sean's and Myra's house, with Myra cooking some of the finest chicken dishes plus her home-made apple pie.

Bluegrass in Ireland owes a great deal to Sean and Myra, and Sean has all our sympathies.
