BIB editor's note: Multi-instrumentalist Rick Townend has been one of the main forces in British bluegrass since the 1960s, when he was in the original Echo Mountain Boys. He is now the BBMA area representative for south-east England. Rick is also involved in the London Fiddle Convention which takes place at Cecil Sharp House on Sunday 26 February, at which bluegrass fiddle is represented by Bob Winquist.
