In the 48th Annual Grammy awards on 8 February, Alison Krauss & Union Station won the awards for Country Album with their Lonely runs both ways, and won the Country Performance with Vocals and Country Instrumental Performance awards with 'Restless' and 'Unionhouse Branch' from the album; Emmylou Harris won Female Country Vocal with 'The connection'; Tim O’Brien and John Prine won the awards for Traditional and Contemporary Folk Albums respectively with their Fiddler’s Green and Fair & square; and the Del McCoury Band won the Bluegrass Album award with The company we keep. Rhonda Vincent has now received the IBMA’s Female Singer of the Year award for a record six consecutive years, and in this year’s SPBGMA awards she and her band have won the awards for Female Vocalist (Contemporary), Entertainer, Bluegrass Band, Vocal Group, Guitar Performer, and Fiddle Performer.
