Busking competition during JKBF in Longford

Chris Keenan writes:

Attention all musicians: Busking competition!

A busking competition will take place in Longford this month during the Johnny Keenan Banjo Festival.

During the weekend of 23 September, all musicians are invited to partake in street performing, with cash prizes totalling €500. Also, the overall winner will be invited to perform on the main stage of the Sunday night concert of the Banjo Festival!

It's free to enter: simply e-mail or ring 087 281 7825 to register your interest, or for further information. All music types are welcome.

The Festival website also announces:

Due to circumstances beyond our control, we regret to report that Blue Highway (USA) will not be appearing at this year's festival.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, as they are undoubtedly one of the finest bluegrass bands in the world. We look forward to having Blue Highway back at the festival at a future date.
