Old friends at good prices on Compass Records

As mentioned yesterday on the BIB, the winners at Thursday's IBMA awards ceremony included the Gibson Brothers (Vocal Group and Album of the Year) and Dale Ann Bradley (Female Vocalist of the Year). Both acts are on the artist roster of Alison Brown's Compass Records, which is celebrating the wins with 20 per cent off the price of all bluegrass CDs in the label's extensive catalogue. Free shipping (presumably only in the US) if you buy four albums. This offer ends on Tuesday 4 October. More details are here.

Among the many bluegrass acts on Compass are Greg Cahill's Special Consensus (Greg received an IBMA Distinguished Achievement Award), and two headline acts from last weekend's Johnny Keenan Banjo Festival in Longford: the Peter Rowan Bluegrass Band and the Carter Brothers. The Carters pre-launched at Longford their new album Road to Roosky, which will be launched in Florida a week from now. Full details are here.
