Picking sessions at Clenaghan's

we've enjoyed a couple of great nights recently. I'm sending you a pic taken in Clenaghan's outside Aghalee, Co. Armagh, last night [Sat. 31 July]. The pub/restaurant has such amazing character, perfect for an impromptu bluegrass picking session... Tony Curran, Brian Crawford, Derek, Suzanne, and her dad Tim treated us all to a wonderful night of fine music - bluegrass, bit of gospel, Stanley Brothers, even Bruce Springsteen and Christy Moore's 'Ride on' - assisted on vocals by the very talented member of the audience who requested it.

Great night had by all. Tony and Brian will be playing as part of Acoustic Grass this Saturday afternoon during the Maiden City Festival in Derry. To anyone going to listen - feel free to request the most obscure non-bluegrass tune you can think of, 'cos these boys will try anything!
